Heaven’s Perspective Of Sanctuary Cities

While this might seem like an attempt to become politically involved in some of the swampiness currently going on in the USA, I want to assure you that is not my intent. I simply want to present to you, from the perspective of heaven, the intent of a “sanctuary city”.

According to Wikipedia, the term “sanctuary city” has recently been defined as, “a city in the United States and Canada, that limits its cooperation with the efforts of national government to enforce immigration law. Such policies can be set expressly in law or observed in practice, but the designation sanctuary city did not actually have a precise legal definition.”

Until later, when Attorney General Jeff Sessions defined “sanctuary cities” as “those who willfully refuse to comply with a single federal immigration law, Section 1373.”

I do not believe the subject of sanctuary cities in this nation is coincidental.

Like anything else, I believe it is a sloppy attempt of spiritual forces to undermine the true value and meaning of the sanctuary of heaven on Earth.

The sanctuary of God is not about escapism or some illegal entitlement. It’s not about a refusal to comply with the laws of the land, no matter how much we might disagree with their intent. It’s especially not a place of refuge where we enable others to position themselves into a place of governmental rebellion.

In early biblical history, God instructed Moses with these words:

“Direct the people to build a holy sanctuary in My honor so that I can dwell among them. Instruct them to follow the pattern I am about to show you for the congregation tent and its furnishings.” (Exodus 25:8-9)

The Hebrew word “qodesh” means “sacred place or sanctuary.”

This historical moment marked the beginning of God expressing his desire to dwell in the midst of his people. It was a natural pattern, fashioned after heaven, in honor of God, given for the purpose of creating a place for God to have fellowship with those he loved.

David declared,

“I have seen You in the sanctuary, to see Your power and Your glory, because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips will praise!” (Psalms 63:2-3)

Wow! The image of David’s sanctuary with God is certainly a far cry from what is being presented today. In this place David saw the Lord. He saw the power of God and his awesome glory.

I am prophetically announcing to you today that the attempt of the enemy to minimize the sanctuary of God will not prevail and will crumble to the ground.

I believe we are standing on the threshold of seeing the face of God, his power and glory unlike any other generation before us.

What you are seeing today is just another obstruction that will be removed from this land, which will make way for the glory of the Lord to become more visible than ever before.

This is not about illegal immigration.

It’s a blundering attempt of the enemy to create division in hopes that the “true sanctuary of God” will not come into view.

Even as I write these words, I believe I am seeing a divine interruption that will occur in the near future. It looks like an unusual glorious revival within Hispanic communities. I have a strong sense this will present another familiar phrase we have heard from the new networks before, “we never saw this coming.”

In addition, David describes how the sanctuary of God brought him into the revelation that the “loving kindness of God was better than life.”

Can you imagine the loving kindness of God being greater than any other circumstance in your life? Are you hearing this? The kindness of God will be better than life itself! Wow! How cool is that! We are entering into an intense season when the loving kindness of God will become so evident that beautiful sanctuaries of glory will exponentially spring up all over the world.

These sanctuaries are nothing less than the people of God, who are indeed the embodiment of God’s glory, who together, will corporately make up the city of God on Earth.

Paul writes,

“Do you not know that your body is a temple (sanctuary) of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own?” (1 Cor. 6:19)

I love this! From the perspective of heaven, sanctuary cities are a corporate gathering of God’s people, wherein the Holy Spirit becomes fully manifested on Earth as in heaven.

Make no mistake. God is building his house.

As the maturation of God’s house continues to exceed its former state of glory, the same glorious creation in heaven will become visible on the Earth. Thus, the eternal sanctuary of God’s glory will forever merge all tribes and nations into their eternal union with the Father. Come on God!

Kingdom Cheers,

Michael Danforth
